Hello All, it's late but welcome to the 2010 Cartel year! We've finally started to get some insight into our plans so here we go. First, our new single "The Perfect Mistake" will be going to radio at the end of the month so listen out for it and be sure to call and request it from your favorite station when the time comes. We'll let you know when to make the phones ring off the hook. Secondly, our touring plans are starting to come through and we're excited to hopefully start announcing some dates in the next few weeks. We have been enjoying our time off but we can't wait to get back out on the road and see our favorite folks in the world (that would be you). Until then, keep listening and tell a friend or 5 about us and give them a taste of the record. Take Care.

First Blog Entry Ever: So here we are - new record, fresh site, more friends! I can't accurately express how excited I was when I arrived at each new checkpoint along this process. What started in December 2007 with the creation of the song "The Perfect Mistake" is now coming to completion with the release of Cycles on October 20th. That's exactly a week away from the time of this entry.

It was a long process that took us from Epic Records to Wind-up Records... from producer to producer... studio to studio... song to song, and now it's finally done. This whole experience has been nothing short of laborious, stressful, and exhausting. I've been depressed, angry, exalted, and ecstatic all at once and separately throughout this journey that has become this record. You could imagine what my feelings are now... it's like giving birth, having the child grow, and then watching it run off to college to begin it's own life now in the hands of the people it was originally intended for - you!

I really can't begin to say how much all the fans who have stuck by us over the last 2 years means to us. We've played places big and small, big cities/little cities, and all of you have done nothing but make us feel more welcome and relevant than ever before. I guess it took us climbing up the walls so to speak in order for us to really grasp the potential that we had to make a record like Cycles. I'm proud of what we've accomplished over the last couple of years and now it seems like things are finally about to come back around.

We'll be touring solid from here on - until you can't stand us anymore. Let's hope that's not the case. Haha. I can't wait to embark on this next great adventure with this record. Each album is another lesson - another chance to grow and improve. That's kind of what the record title symbolizes. In my short 25 years of being alive, I've noticed more and more how cyclical things are. I don't necessarily know what existential principle that points to - whether it's organic or mystical but I do know it's real.

That's what I hope we've succeeded in bringing to you guys... something real and vibrant that you can wrap your arms around and embrace. Get inside the record and hang out with it. That's all we can really hope for. So, you'll be seeing us around. Come say hi. We'll be on the road. We'll be playing shows. We'll be doing what we love the most - playing music for all you good folk far and wide. Enjoy each other. Enjoy yourself. Live your life... don't be a spectator.
